A photofacial is a facial that uses intense pulses of light to penetrate deep into the skin. IPL photorejuvenation then causes collagen and blood vessels to constrict, reducing redness and age lines. Most benefits of the treatment occur gradually in the weeks following the procedure.

Are you right for this treatment?

If you have blotchy, sun-damaged or discolored skin, this treatment may be for you. Furthermore, if you suffer from enlarged pores, wrinkles and freckles you may also benefit from the IPL photofacial.  The procedure is fairly quick and requires no downtime, this makes it ideal for people with busy schedules. Those with dark or deeply tanned skin sometimes face complications when undergoing the IPL Photofacial. Always speak to a dermatologist or registered nurse before undergoing any type of treatment.

FAQ’s

Are IPL Photofacials safe?

IPL photorejuvenation is one of the safest light-based facial treatments available. It is reported that the light pulses feels nothing more than a rubber band “snap” on the skin. Patients experience little to no pain during the procedure while redness, minor swelling and inflammation that may occur usually go away within a few hours to a few days.

When will I start seeing results?

It will take several hours to a day before the treatment results become visible and depending on the condition you are treating, your experience will differ. Protect the treated area by using sunscreen and covering the area from the sun as much as possible.  Protecting your skin from the sun will help the procedure results last as long as possible
